Homework

We believe that a reasonable amount of homework is of great educational value to all students.   Therefore, our teachers assign homework on a regular basis to: enrich school experiences, provide practice and review, develop good study habits, teach responsibility, and foster originality. Assignments are not always written. Study and memory work are frequently assigned.  

We follow the Diocese of Pittsburgh's recommended time schedule for home study.            

Primary (levels 1-3) . . . . . . . . . . . . . .   30 minutes

Intermediate (levels 4-5) . . . . . . . . . .   45 minutes

Upper Elementary (levels 6-8)  . . . . .   1 to 1.5 hours

Homework assignments for kindergarten through grade 5 are on the homework hotline.   The mailbox numbers for each teacher are listed on the back of the monthly calendar.
