Living, Loving, Learning in a Catholic Community

Dear Families, Alumni and Friends of St. Therese School,

Welcome to the St. Therese School Website. This website is a snapshot of the school and its programs. We thank you for your interest and invite you to take some time to review the website's various links to learn more about our school.

The mission of our school is to provide students with all the tools they need to develop into responsible, caring adult citizens. At St. Therese students learn in a Christ-centered, nurturing environment where they are recognized and respected as individuals and where they are taught to use their gifts and talents to grow spiritually and academically.

They are challenged to understand and demonstrate socially acceptable behaviors and to be representative of the Catholic ideals that we foster. They are invited to deepen their appreciation for Gospel values and to participate in community service.

St. Therese emphasizes the child-centered philosophy of the school and we work toward making sure that each student has positive and meaningful experiences to support academic excellence and faith development.

St. Therese School is a parish school and has a strong Catholic identity. We take pride in the values we promote in our faith-based program and in how the students demonstrate these values in their daily lives. St. Therese first opened its doors to students on September 7, 1954. Six Seton Hill Sisters of Charity and one lay teacher made up the first teaching faculty for the school.

It is my privilege, as a Sister of Charity and the school's principal, to make the journey from preschool through eighth grade with students. In doing so, I see miracles happen. They graduate from St. Therese with the potential to be future leaders of our Church and local community.

God bless you!

Sister Eileen Johnston, S.C.
